About the Artist
Hi, I’m Jenny. Thanks for visiting!
I make small batches of work that are inspired by color and texture, and no two pieces are alike. I am endlessly playing with glazes and color combinations with a goal in mind to create joyful pieces that you love having in your home.
I received my BFA in Ceramics from the University of Michigan in 2022, where I developed a deep love for working with clay. I hadn’t used clay before then, and from my first ceramics class I was taken aback by how the process taught me patience and slowness, and gave me endless inspiration. When I graduated, I took a very long break (20 years!), but revisited my passion for creating when I took a throwing class with Kim Funk at Terresterial Forming back in 2022. I fell in love with the ceramics making process all over again, and haven’t looked back! It is an ancient process that I am honored to be a part of.
Community is central to my practice, and I was able to get my art practice going again once I had found a community of other artists to share both ideas and struggles with. I value the role of artistic and local communities in fostering connection, support, and an outlet for sharing our creativity together.
I strive for my work to bring together bold color and a spirit of fun. I hope that you enjoy my pieces, whether they’re sitting on a shelf or in use in your home. The world needs more joy, and my goal is to spread it where I can!
